College Seeks Public Comment as Presidential Search Begins

The Clatsop Community College Board of Directors invites the public to review and comment on its Presidential Profile as it begins the search process for a new college president.

The Presidential Profile will introduce the position and the community to prospective applicants. It should include key characteristics of the college and the regional community, opportunities and challenges that the successful candidate will likely face, and essential candidate qualifications. The draft profile can be viewed at the college website by following the “Presidential Search” link. Following the receipt and review of public comments, a final Presidential Profile will be issued nationally to initiate recruitment.

The college will host three public comment sessions on Thursday, October 8:

  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm, at the CCC South County Campus, 1455 N Roosevelt Drive, Seaside
  • 3:00pm – 5:00pm, in Columbia Hall Room 219 on the main campus in Astoria and
  • 5:00pm – 7:00pm, in Columbia Hall Room 219 on the main campus in Astoria

All sessions will be facilitated by a representative of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) that is assisting with the search. Comments can also be submitted electronically until October 8.

Please direct inquiries to:  Leslie Lipe, 503-338-2450.
