Clatsop Community College is proud to announce that the Medical Assistant program has been awarded the American Medical Technologist (AMT) national credential. This credential recognizes that the coursework, curriculum, practicum experiences, and instruction meet or exceed national guidelines set forth by the industry.
Students who now graduate from the Medical Assistant Program will have the opportunity to take a national certification exam and obtain the title RMA or Registered Medical Assistant. In the upcoming months, this will become even more important as Medical Assistants will need to be credentialed medical assistants to enter orders into the computerized physician order entry system for medication and laboratory services.
Holly Tumbarello, RN, BSN, the instructor/program coordinator, has also been recognized as a Certified Allied Health Instructor. She completed the necessary coursework and application process to obtain this certification.
