International artist Sven Frøkjær-Jensen of Denmark will visit Clatsop Community College for a workshop and public lecture on May 15-16.
Selected by juror Jane Beebe to exhibit in the 2011 Au Naturel exhibit from over 800 submissions, Mr. Frøkjær- Jensen was also chosen for a special workshop award from among many outstanding proposals.
Mr. Frøkjær-Jensen will lead a drawing workshop entitled “A Way to Artistic Freedom” at Clatsop Community College from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 15th, 2012. The workshop will be held in the Drawing and Painting Studio of the CCC Art Center, and will introduce participants to theoretical and practical techniques dealing with the creative process, the idea or project as artistic vehicle, and various means to focus one’s artistic goals.

understanding.”On Wednesday, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 115 of the CCC Art Center, 1799 Lexington Avenue, Astoria, Mr. Frøkjær-Jensen will give a lecture on the Danish art scene. This lecture will include historical background as well as a discussion of the most current trends in Scandinavia. The lecture is free and open to the public.
