The Board of Directors of Clatsop Community College elected its new officers for 2011-2012 at its regular board meeting, July 12, 2011. Both new officers will serve in their capacities for the first time reflecting the intent of the Board to rotate leadership broadly among the members.
Paul Gillum, who represents Zone 2, was elected Chair. Gillum is a retired Astoria Police Officer, a sculptor of fine art bronze, and currently owns Studio B in Astoria. Paul has lived in Astoria for about 46 years, and is married to Jo Gillum a lifelong Astoria resident, for over 38 years. Paul was a US Marine, serving in Viet Nam. Paul enjoys fine art, automobiles, and collects automobilia and soda fountain memorabilia, and loves to travel. Paul and Jo have a married son who is in the US Army and lives in Colorado.
The Board elected Jim Scheller as Vice Chair. Scheller was appointed to the Board of Directors in April 2010, and represents Zone 3 that includes Clatsop Plains where he lives with his wife Jann, two dogs and a cat. He retired in 2008 after a 30 year career as a Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA. Jim's daughter attended CCC for her first year of college. Jim currently serves as chair of the North Coast Watershed Assn., the Skipanon Water Control District and the Warrenton Trails Assn. Jim and his family enjoy hiking, biking, sailing and kayaking our fantastic Columbia River region and actively support public use and protection of our outstanding natural resources.
