Announcement of Presidential Finalists

The Clatsop Community College Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we have selected four finalists for the presidency of CCC.  We were able to recruit a rich pool of candidates from throughout the state, region and nation. Your contribution to the many accomplishments at CCC was instrumental in attracting such high quality candidates.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Presidential Stakeholder Committee for their dedication, commitment, and hard work on behalf of Clatsop Community College.

Clatsop Community College finalists are (in alphabetical order):

Mr. Christopher Breitmeyer currently serves as the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Saint Charles Community College in Missouri.  Previously, he served as the Dean of Math, Science and Health for Saint Charles Community College. Mr. Breitmeyer earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology Ed from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and a Master of Science in Zoology from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.  He is currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at the University of Nebraska and is expected to complete the program in Fall 2016.
 
Dr. Christopher Dyer currently serves as the CEO/President of University of New Mexico-Gallup in New Mexico.  He previously served as Chief Academic Officer for Missouri State University – West Plains, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Science in Fishery Biology from the University of Arizona, Arizona, a Master of Science in Biology from University of Alabama, Alabama, a Masters of Arts in Anthropology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from Arizona State University.
 
Dr. Ron Liss currently serves at the Vice President and Special Advisor for Workforce, Community, and Economic Development of Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio.  He previously served as the Campus President of Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, Industrial Arts Education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo, a Master of Arts in Instructional Systems Development from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Leadership and Management from American University, Washington, DC.

Dr. Glenn Smith currently serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs for Concordia University, Oregon.  He previously served as the Executive Vice Provost for Concordia University, Oregon. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communicology and a Master of Arts in Social Sciences: College Student Development from Azusa Pacific College, Azusa, California, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership: Postsecondary Education from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon.


Each presidential finalist will participate in open public forums.  We invite and encourage everyone to attend the open public forums. These forums are open to faculty, administrators, staff, students and the general public.  There will be a brief introduction of each candidate followed by a question and answer session.  Feedback forms will be given to all who attend and the completed forms will be collected at the end of each forum and given to the Board of Directors for review.   Dates for the forums are being arranged and will be posted.
