Ales & Ideas: The Global Campaign to End Polio with Lessons for our Local Community Immunization Efforts

FEBRUARY 26: UPDATED NEW LOCATION: Upstairs in the Fort George Public House, 1483 Duane St, Astoria

Clatsop Community College and the Fort George Brewery announce the fourth program of the 2013/2014 Ales & Ideas education series, Thursday, February 27 at 7pm in the Fort George Lovell Showroom.

The global eradication of polio is nearly complete following a worldwide vaccination campaign to immunize every child. Learn what it takes to eradicate a disease from the entire globe through the combined efforts of public and private enterprises. The polio campaign demonstrates well what can be achieved with active vaccination efforts and provides lessons for our local community immunization efforts. Learn what happens when vaccination rates fall and kids are not protected against vaccine preventable diseases.

Please join Laurie Choate for an engaging evening of inquiry.  The Fort George Lovell Showroom is located at 14th and Duane St. in Astoria. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the program begins at 7:00pm.  Seasonal beers on tap, food and other beverages are available for purchase.  Minors are welcome.
