Join Clatsop Community College's Women's Studies Women and Social Action class as they celebrate the hanging of the Clothesline Project, Wednesday, February 29, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Clatsop Community College Towler Hall, 3rd floor.
The Clothesline Project is an annual global event that started in Cape Cod, MA in 1990 to bear witness to violence against women and children. T-shirts are decorated with words or images that are hung on a clothesline as a testimony to the issue.
During the opening celebration, Margaret Frimoth, CCC Lives in Transition Coordinator and the creator of VOCA Camp (Victory Over Child Abuse), will speak about violence and its impact on families. A representative from the Women's Resource Center will be present to offer information about available resources.
This is the second year CCC has hosted the Clothesline Project. T-shirts will be on display from February 27 through March 16.
