CCC Volunteer Literacy Tutors Honored For Their Service
On Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 several volunteers with the Clatsop Community College Volunteer Literacy Tutor program were honored with a lunch for their many hours of volunteer service with students learning English or looking to upgrade their reading and writing skills.
“These volunteers not only teach language skills, but also help their students to participate more fully in the lives of their children and in the community; in other words, they contribute in a fundamental way to improving the overall health of our society,” says Eileen Purcell, CCC’s Outreach Literacy Tutor Coordinator.
