From: Becky Read Clatsop Community College Summer Accounting Classes Offered at Clatsop Community College's South County Campus Clatsop Community College offers two accounting courses this summer, "QuickBooks Level 1" and "Accounting Fundamentals 1". QuickBooks Level 1 is for office managers, bookkeepers, account managers and other business professionals who want instruction in the computer classroom instruction This 15-hour course is designed to introduce you to the scope of capabilities that QuickBooks Pro 2008 has to offer and to receive a basic understanding of QuickBooks Pro using QuickBooks Pro 2008. Class dates are June 24 - July 22, 2008, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Class topics include chart of accounts, financial statements, glossary, customizing and using reports, recording sales, and paying bills. Cost is $225. Instructor is Suzanne Corliss Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. "Accounting Fundamentals 1" is also for business owners, office managers, bookkeepers, account managers and other business professionals who want to learn basic accounting principles, how to set up an accounting system, and how to set up cash management. This is part one of a two-part series; "Accounting Fundamentals 2" is scheduled for fall term and will cover payroll, financial statements, and inventory/pricing/job costing (Accounting Fundamentals 1 & 2 alternate throughout the year). Class dates are August 5th & 12th, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Cost is $123. Instructor is Sandy McDowall, tax consultant. Both classes will be held at the CCC South County Campus in Seaside.
