Clatsop Community College Meyer Memorial Trust Awards CCC $500,000 Grant For The Jerome Campus Renovation Project Clatsop Community College received word this week that the Meyer Memorial Trust has awarded it a $500,000 grant for the Jerome Campus Renovation Project. Recognizing both the need for immediate resources and the value of such grants in encouraging other support, the Meyer Memorial Trust distributed $400,000 as an outright grant and will distribute the remaining $100,000 when matching support is secured. “Receiving this grant is truly exciting,” says Greg Hamann, CCC President. “We are deeply honored and grateful that the Meyer Memorial Trust sees the importance of the Jerome Campus Renovation Project to the College and our community. Not only will this funding make a difference for the renovation of the campus, we believe it represents an investment in the future of Clatsop County. We also believe that the challenge of matching the $100,000 portion of this grant will give Clatsop County supporters the opportunity to become part of this important project.” In making its decision, Meyer Memorial Trust conducted a site visit at the college and conferred with numerous individuals involved in the campus renovation project, including the architects and project manager. Anyone interested in the project can learn more at www.clatsopcc.edu/campus. Meyer Memorial Trust was created through the personal philanthropy of the late Fred G. Meyer, who built the chain of retail stores bearing his name throughout the Pacific Northwest.
