The CCC Student Exhibition is an annual juried event. It showcases the artistic works of CCC’s art students. The Student Exhibition encompasses most disciplines being taught at CCC, including graphic arts, drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography and printmaking. This year, the college invited two jurors for the student exhibition—Trudy Woods and Debby Neely. Ms. Woods is an Art Instructor and previous Gallery Director at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington. Ms. Neely teaches at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. “In judging, we asked ourselves three things: do they know how to use the tools, is it well-designed, and did the artist engage the viewer. Overall the quality is very high and it is a very strong show. Awards were given to those pieces whose combination of concept, design, and craftsmanship kept drawing us back for another look,” says Juror Trudy Woods about the show.
